Thaïlande : La princesse Bajrakitiyabha est décédée après plus de 3 ans dans le coma
The Kingdom of Thailand is in mourning. Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol passed away yesterday, Thursday, June 11, in a Bangkok hospital. This was announced by the Royal Household Office. She had been in a coma since December 2022 after falling ill during a dog training session.
The palace had indicated that she was suffering from a mycoplasma infection. Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol was 47 years old.
A woman of the law
During her lifetime, she was considered one of the most prominent members of the royal family. She served as Thailand's ambassador to Austria from 2012 to 2014. In 2017, she was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
It must be said that the princess was a woman of law. She had a master's degree in law from Cornell University and served as a prosecutor for several years.
A "source of pride for Thailand"
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul paid tribute to him in a televised speech. He said Bajrakitiyabha was a "source of pride for Thailand." He added that his "commitment to building a society of kindness, justice, and equality will forever remain a moral legacy for the nation, a beacon for generations of Thais."
