The Kédougou Academy is actively preparing for the organization of the 2026 Elementary School Leaving Certificate (CFEE) exams. In total, 5,991 candidates are registered this year in the three Education and Training Inspectorates (IEF) of the region, spread across 64 examination centers.
According to official statistics, the Kédougou Education and Training Inspectorate (IEF) has the largest number of candidates with 3,176, including 1,724 girls and 1,452 boys. The exams will take place in 33 centers spread across the department.
The Saraya Education and Training Inspectorate (IEF) ranks second with 2,032 candidates. Notably, girls make up the majority with 1,058 registered compared to 974 boys. Nineteen examination centers have been selected to host the candidates.
In the Salémata department, 783 students will take part in the CFEE exams. The student body consists of 403 girls and 380 boys, distributed across 12 examination centers.
At the regional level, statistics reveal a slight predominance of girls. Of the 5,991 registered candidates, 3,101 are girls compared to 2,890 boys, representing nearly 52% of the total.
These figures demonstrate the progress made in girls' enrollment and retention in the education system. They also reflect the significant organizational challenges that must be addressed to ensure the smooth running of this exam, which marks the end of primary school.
With the exams just days away, academic authorities say they have taken the necessary steps to ensure optimal organization in all centers of the Kédougou Academy.
