Examen du bac technique : Le ministre Idrissa Samb à Kaolack
The Minister of Employment and Vocational and Technical Training (MEFPT), Idrissa Samb, visited the examination center at the El Hadj Abdoulaye Niasse Technical High School in Kaolack on Monday, after a stopover in Fatick. This visit was part of the national launch of the technical baccalaureate exams. The Abdoulaye Niasse High School is the main examination center serving the Sine-Saloum region.
Following a whirlwind visit, he shared his impressions: “We found a fairly comprehensive organizational structure and no major difficulties. Only five absences were noted. We found 263 candidates at this center, including 174 girls, or 63%. We note that girls are well represented in the technical baccalaureate. It's a fairly technical field, and quite a few young people don't want to pursue it. We encourage parents to enroll their children in technical and business programs.”
In total, there are 3,354 candidates for the technical baccalaureate in the Central region (Fatick and Kaolack). “This is quite low compared to the number of candidates for the national baccalaureate, representing 1.81% of the total. But with the support of political authorities such as the President of the Republic, we will try to reverse this trend by building six new technical high schools specializing in agribusiness, as well as eight others in line with the Senegal 2050 Vision, specifically within the second pillar, which focuses on vocational training. The authorities are committed to addressing technical training head-on, as it is the future of Africa.”
