APS : Momar Diong plaide pour un siège fonctionnel pour l’ensemble des services
The Director General of the Senegalese Press Agency (APS), Momar Diong, reaffirmed on Friday the need for the public company to have a functional headquarters capable of accommodating all of its services.
"APS still does not have a headquarters capable of housing all of its services," he said during the ceremony for the reception of new rolling stock and audiovisual equipment.
Addressing the Minister of Communication and Relations with Institutions, Government Spokesperson Dr. Bakary Sarr, who presided over the ceremony, he indicated that acquiring suitable premises was the "primary plea" of the management and staff of the APS (Algerian Press Service). "We know that this project requires significant time and resources. But, while awaiting its completion, we hope to be able to benefit from premises better suited to the needs of our institution," he stated, mentioning the allocation of a site within the State's Built Heritage portfolio.
Momar Diong said he was convinced that this concern would be brought to the attention of the highest authorities of the State.
He also welcomed the minister's presence at the ceremony, noting that it was his first official outing since his appointment.
According to him, the choice of APS for this first visit constitutes a "strong signal" in favor of the oldest public press company in Senegal and, more broadly, of the media sector. "This presence also gives hope for the improvement of relations between the ministry and the entire media ecosystem, as well as for the new dynamic that you intend to inject into government communication," he emphasized.
He finally reaffirmed APS's commitment to professionally pursue its public service mission of providing information.
"You can always count on the Senegalese Press Agency to professionally fulfill its public service mission," he assured.
