Thiès : Les premières pluies de l'hivernage sont tombées ce vendredi matin
Thiès recorded its first rains early Friday morning, marking the gradual start of the rainy season. The precipitation, which fell in the early hours of the day, was observed in several localities of the railway capital and its surrounding areas.
After several months of intense heat and dry weather, this first rain was welcomed with relief by many residents.
Farmers, particularly attentive to the onset of winter, hope that these first showers will be followed by regular rainfall in the coming weeks. They are indeed an important indicator for field preparation and the first sowing.
While these rains brought a significant drop in temperatures, they also served as a reminder of the need to strengthen flood prevention measures in certain vulnerable areas of the city.
According to weather forecasts, further rainy episodes could be recorded in the coming days, thus confirming the gradual establishment of the rainy season in the Thiès region.
