Procès en diffamation : Omar Dramé dénonce une « stratégie d’usure » après un sixième renvoi
The defamation trial between Omar Dramé, coordinator of the Interministerial Collective of Senegalese Civil Servants (CIAAS), and Marème Soda Ndiaye, Director of the Commission for Food Security and Resilience (CSAR), has been postponed once again. The hearing has been rescheduled for November 25, 2026, at the request of the plaintiff's lawyer, according to Mr. Dramé.
In a statement, the union official claims that this is the sixth postponement of this procedure initiated since February 2025. He emphasizes that the complainant has never appeared before the court since the case was opened.
"For 16 months of proceedings, the Director has never deigned to appear in court," says Omar Dramé, who believes that the multiple postponements reflect "the emptiness of the case."
The CIAAS coordinator points out that the complaint follows a case related to the dismissal of ten CSAR agents.
According to him, the case was already dealt with by the Dakar Labour Inspectorate in March 2025 and the agents concerned received all of their entitlements.
Considering that this matter is already settled on an administrative and social level, Omar Dramé accuses the opposing party of wanting to weaken him, as well as the trade union movement, through a prolonged legal procedure.
Despite this situation, the union official assures that he will continue his commitment to defending workers.
He also calls on the authorities to intervene in order to put an end to what he describes as a "sham" and a "parody of justice".
The case is now expected to go before the court on November 25, 2026.
