Taxes sur les produits pétroliers : les raisons d’une moins-value
The specific tax on petroleum products is not performing well. This is at least what the quarterly budget execution report published on Monday, June 15th, reveals. Not only were the targets for the first quarter not met, with revenue amounting to 50.2 billion compared to the projected 63.8 billion (a realization rate of 78.7%), but there was also a decrease of 2.2 billion compared to the 2025 target.
"The recorded loss (-13.6 billion) is attributable to the contraction of taxable volumes and to the policy of regulating pump prices, which led to an adjustment of tax bases, in a context of global energy shock," the finance minister justifies through the aforementioned document.
