Burkina Faso : 158 engins sans immatriculation interceptés à Ouagadougou
The Directorate General of Land and Maritime Transport, in collaboration with the trade services and the national and municipal police, inspected 1,219 vehicles in Ouagadougou on October 20, 2026. Of these, 158 were found to be unregistered. A total of 94 vehicles were impounded. Two-wheeled vehicles accounted for the majority of violations, with 141 cases recorded.
This operation aims to enforce regulations, strengthen road safety and facilitate the identification of vehicles and their owners.
The operation should be extended to other cities in Burkina Faso in order to strengthen compliance with existing laws and improve the control of vehicles throughout the national territory.
