Burkina Faso : inauguration d'une centrale thermique pour réduire la dépendance du pays aux importations d'électricité
Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo inaugurated, on July 21 in Pabré, a 50 megawatt emergency thermal power plant intended to strengthen production capacities.
Completed in 90 days at a cost of 18 billion FCFA, this infrastructure is part of the government's strategy to achieve energy sovereignty.
Authorities have also launched construction of a 120-megawatt power plant in Ouagadougou Southeast, estimated at 133 billion CFA francs. The government states its aim is to reduce the country's dependence on electricity imports through a vast program of new power plants planned across Burkina Faso.
