Côte d’Ivoire : Un jeune maçon poignardé à mort par de présumées prostituées lors d’une passe
In Ivory Coast, the town of Ouellé, located north of Daoukro, was the scene of a tragedy yesterday, Sunday, July 26, 2026. A 24-year-old construction worker was stabbed to death by suspected prostitutes during an argument while they were having sex. According to Fraternité Matin, which reported the story, the woman in question allegedly asked several of her colleagues to stab the young man.
Punitive raids against places frequented by prostitutes
For now, the origin of the argument between the prostitute and her unfortunate client remains unknown. The police investigation should shed light on the circumstances of this tragedy that sparked the unrest.
Indeed, angry youths have carried out punitive expeditions, setting fire to several places frequented by prostitutes and attacking some of them.
In response to the situation, the national gendarmerie sent reinforcements from the city of Daoukro to restore order. Two people were arrested.
The police offered their protection to the women who, fleeing violence, had hidden in the bush or with local residents.
