During his visit to Mali, Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb was received by Abdoulaye Maiga and Assimi Goita.

Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb paid an official visit to Mali yesterday, Monday, September 14, 2026. The statesman held a one-on-one meeting with his Malian counterpart, Abdoulaye Maiga.

Working session between the delegations of the two countries

This meeting led to a working session between the delegations of the two countries. During this meeting, the Director General of the Investment Promotion Agency (API) in Mali presented the country's export offerings.

The Minister of Energy addressed Mali's energy deficit, while his counterpart at the Ministry of Transport discussed the Trans-Saharan Highway project. The Minister of Higher Education highlighted the benefits Algeria provides to Malian scholarship recipients and expressed his desire to expand cooperation to include research.

Sifi Ghrieb at the Koulouba Palace

At the end of the working session, the Algerian Prime Minister proposed the establishment of thematic teams.

He then went to the Koulouba Palace where he was received in audience by the President of the Transition, General Assimi Goita. On this occasion, the statesman conveyed to the Malian leader the fraternal greetings of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as his firm commitment to strengthening the bonds of fraternity and good neighborliness between the two countries.

Assimi Goita asked the Algerian Prime Minister to convey his sincere greetings to President Tebboune. He also expressed his agreement to explore all partnership opportunities between the two countries.

The issue of security in the Sahel was also discussed with the Malian leader who is due to visit Algeria very soon.
