Insolite : Au Nigeria, le salaire mensuel d’un militaire est fixé à 44 000 F CFA
The Nigerian federal government has significantly increased the minimum monthly pay for its soldiers. It will now be 100,000 naira, or approximately 44,000 CFA francs, up from 49,000 naira previously, according to reports from NE Infos.
The announcement was made by the Nigerian Minister of Defense. This pay increase, supported by broad political backing, aims to improve the living conditions and well-being of the armed forces. This decision comes at a time when the Nigerian army remains heavily engaged on several security fronts across the country, particularly in the fight against armed groups and the pockets of insecurity that persist in certain regions.
According to the ministry, this doubling of salaries primarily aims to motivate troops deployed in the field. By increasing the financial appeal of a military career, Nigerian authorities seek to strengthen the commitment and determination of soldiers deployed on often lengthy and arduous operations.
