Le Bénin exprime sa solidarité au Niger après l’attaque de l’aéroport de Niamey
The government of Benin condemned the attack that took place on June 18, 2026 near Niamey International Airport and expressed its solidarity with the people of Niger.
In a statement, the Beninese authorities denounced an act of violence targeting strategic civilian infrastructure and endangering the safety of the population. They expressed their support for President Abdourahamane Tiani, the Nigerien authorities, and the victims of the attack.
Benin also reaffirmed its commitment to the historical ties of fraternity and friendship that unite the peoples of Benin and Niger, while emphasizing its desire to strengthen cooperation and solidarity in the face of the region's security challenges.
