Le président Paul Biya de retour au Cameroun après 73 jours d'absence
President Paul Biya returned to Yaoundé on Thursday evening, AFP journalists observed, after a prolonged absence of more than 70 days that fueled speculation about his health and revived the debate about inertia at the top of the state.
The world's longest-serving head of state, aged 93 and in power since 1982, landed around 4:00 PM GMT, arriving from Geneva where he had been staying since June 7 for a "short private visit to Europe," according to an official statement. He left Yaoundé airport waving to the crowd from his car through the slightly open window.
