Lutte contre le terrorisme au Mali : Assimi Goita inaugure le nouveau QG des forces spéciales
In Mali, the transitional president, General Assimi Goïta, inaugurated the new headquarters of the Autonomous Battalion of Special Forces and Training Centers (BAFS-CA) in Sénou on Tuesday. Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maiga, President of the National Transitional Council Malick Diaw, Minister of Defense Major General Oumar Diarra, and several other dignitaries were present.
Strengthen the operational readiness of specialized units
The construction of this new headquarters (HQ) for special forces serves a dual purpose: to improve the living and working conditions of personnel and to strengthen the operational readiness of specialized units.
The infrastructure, built on an area of approximately 15 hectares, accommodates the command activities, coordination of operations, and training of BAFS-CA personnel.
It includes an administrative building, accommodation buildings, a restaurant, a gym, an admissions office, shops, a parade ground and various technical infrastructures.
Flags presented to the commanders of the BAFS-CA
In his address, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Élise Jean Dao, commended the commitment of the highest authorities to modernizing the defense apparatus. He emphasized the importance of training, operational readiness, and the hardening of military personnel in the sustainable strengthening of the effectiveness of the Malian Armed Forces (FAMA).
At the end of the inauguration ceremony, the Minister of Defence, Major General Oumar Diarra, presented the flags to the commanders of the BAFS-CA and the anti-terrorist force.
