Mali : Les "révélations" du général Tiani sur les attaques du 25 avril 2026
In an interview with the national press on Sunday, July 26, the President of the Republic of Niger, General Abdourahmane Tiani, addressed the deadly attacks of April 25, 2026, in Mali. According to the President, these attacks were carried out with "the complicity of countries neighboring Mali," such as Côte d'Ivoire and Mauritania.
"There's a forest (in Ivory Coast) where Ukrainians come to train these mercenaries..."
"They attacked Mali from three directions. One direction coming from northern Benin, passing through our Gourma region and Burkina Faso. Three columns of mercenaries that were supposed to join up to attack either Gao or Sévaré."
Another axis originated in Ivory Coast. There's a forest there where Ukrainians come to train these mercenaries… The third axis is Mauritania. You check in all these countries to see if there are any French forces operating there. French intelligence services are present in the countries I mentioned, and it is these services, perhaps with or without the knowledge of the authorities in those countries, that are organizing these actions against our countries. On April 25, 2026, the seven or eight simultaneous attacks that occurred came from these three axes,” General Tiani stated.
He urges the people of the Confederation not to believe in a departure of the French Forces from Ivory Coast because it is "a pipe dream".
"At the 43rd BIMA (Marine Infantry Battalion), even on March 30, 2026, they trained people in the use of drones, the kamikaze drones that are used on our positions," the Nigerien leader argued.
