Niger : remaniement à la tête de l’armée après la mutinerie
In Niger, Major General Moussa Salaou Barmou has been replaced as Chief of Staff of the Niger Armed Forces by Brigadier General Mahaman Sani Kiaou. The appointment was formalized by a decree from President Abdourahamane Tiani on September 11, 2026.
The reorganization also affects several other positions. Appointments have been made to the positions of Chief of Staff of the Army, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army.
