Pétrole : Le Bénin en passe d’exporter 330 000 barils de brut vers les Pays-Bas
A first shipment of 330,000 barrels of crude oil is preparing to leave Benin's territorial waters for the Netherlands at the beginning of November. "Kriti Jade," the tanker carrying this cargo, arrived off the coast of Cotonou on October 31st, according to the newspaper "La Nation."
Delivery to Shell Trading Group refineries in the Netherlands
The 330,000 barrels of crude oil come from the storage tanks of the Sèmè offshore field, operated by Akrake Petroleum Benin, a subsidiary of Singapore's Rex International Holding. They will be delivered to refineries belonging to the Shell Trading group in the Netherlands.
Indeed, it was the Anglo-Dutch multinational that won the call for expressions of interest launched by Akrake Petroleum. This guarantees it the exclusive right to purchase Beninese crude oil for the next three years.
The value of the crude oil cargo exceeds $36 million.
According to "La Nation", the value of the cargo exceeds $36 million, with a barrel costing $110.
Benin, in addition to its 15% interest in the project, will benefit from a 10% royalty on oil production and a share of the oil profit.
