National reconciliation in Mali: 254 former combatants join the army

Réconciliation nationale au Mali : 254 anciens combattants rejoignent l’armée

In Mali, the Soufouroulaye Joint Training Center hosted the official graduation ceremony yesterday, Tuesday, August 4th, for 254 recruits from the Disarmament, Demobilization, Reintegration and Integration (DDRI) process. These men, known for having belonged to the Dan Na Ambassagou self-defense group, the Donso hunters' brotherhood, and Fulani movements, received several months of military training. They are now ready to serve the Republic.

Opening a new perspective for veterans

In any case, their journey testifies to their commitment to contributing to the consolidation of peace, the strengthening of social cohesion and the defense of national territorial integrity.

It must be said that the initiative to reintegrate these men is led by the Ministry of Reconciliation and National Cohesion. It aims to support them within the fold of the Republic by opening up a new perspective for them based on national unity, peace, and commitment to the defense of the homeland.

In his address, the director of the Soufouroulaye Yacouba Keita Joint Training Center congratulated the new recruits for their efforts throughout their training. He called upon them to demonstrate discipline, courage, honor, and loyalty in carrying out their future missions in service to the nation.
