Bona : Les femmes de Briou réclament la revitalisation des vallées rizicoles
In an effort to increase arable land and improve yields, the women of Briou, a village in the commune of Bona, in the Bounkiling department, are seeking support from public authorities and development partners to revitalize their rice-growing valley. These fertile lands are increasingly affected by salinity each year, drastically reducing the usable area. To combat this problem, their spokesperson, Yaya Manga, is advocating for large-scale development projects, including the rehabilitation of the valleys through the construction of mini salt dikes.
Through this initiative, the people of Briou are demonstrating their strong commitment to actively participating in achieving the rice self-sufficiency goal advocated by the authorities. To realize this ambition, they are once again turning to the Community Development Emergency Program (PUDC), which has already proven its worth in the area by rehabilitating an old road dating back to 1990 to open up the region and facilitate trade.
