Yoro Dia publie « Le temps ne chôme pas » : une plongée dans deux décennies d'histoire contemporaine
Political scientist and former minister Dr. Yoro Dia announces the publication of his new book entitled "Time Doesn't Sleep: Senegal in Search of a New Horizon in a Complex World (Chronicles 2004-2025) ." Published by L'Harmattan Sénégal and with a preface by Soulèye Sarr, this first volume brings together more than twenty years of analysis devoted to the political, economic, and geopolitical transformations of Senegal, Africa, and the world.
Through articles published in the newspaper Le Quotidien and the weekly Nouvel Horizon , the author traces the journey of Senegal, a country that has built a recognized democratic exception but is still struggling to translate it into genuine economic emergence. Throughout the book, the reflection encompasses a variety of themes, ranging from the crisis in Casamance and national political transitions to instability in the Sahel, the growing role of China, and the geopolitical lessons learned from major international crises.
The book is guided by the central conviction that Senegal must absolutely translate its political gains into economic success. The author thus argues for a strategic vision based on the country's stability, geographic location, and openness in order to position the nation as a pivotal state and a regional power. Blending intellectual analysis, geopolitical reflections, and travelogues, the former presidential spokesperson offers an insightful perspective on contemporary challenges.
