Bambey: The DER/FJ mobilizes 150 million CFA francs to strengthen entrepreneurship among women and young people

As part of his second national tour, the Director General of the General Delegation for Rapid Entrepreneurship for Women and Youth (DER/FJ), Dr. Abdoulaye Niane, made a stop in the Bambey department this Friday. This visit is part of an ongoing effort to engage with local stakeholders and strengthen support and financing mechanisms for local entrepreneurial initiatives.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Moussa Ba, representing the prefect of the department, Mr. Christian Diatta, as well as several administrative, territorial authorities and local actors, including the mayor of Bambey, Mr. Assane Dieng, the president of the Departmental Council, Mr. Babacar Ndiaye, the representative of the mayor of Ngogom, Aminata Mar, the mayor of Lambaye, Mr. Assane Ndiaye, and the departmental coordinator of KIIRAAY, Mr. Alioune Penda Diouf.

On this occasion, the Director General announced a total allocation of 150 million FCFA to support entrepreneurship in the Bambey department. As part of the microcredit program, 63 beneficiaries have already each received one million FCFA in funding to develop their income-generating activities and strengthen their economic initiatives.

In addition, more than 1,000 women in the department are targeted by the Nano-Credit scheme, a mechanism designed to facilitate access to financial resources and strengthen the economic empowerment of women, particularly those working in the local economy sector.

Dr. Abdoulaye Niane also discussed the "One ASC, One Project" concept, an initiative that aims to transform sports and cultural associations (ASCs) into genuine drivers of socio-economic integration. Through this program, the DER/FJ intends to support young people in structuring and financing viable projects, thereby fostering their empowerment and active participation in the development of their communities.
