On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, the first round of the general baccalaureate exams began in the region's 68 centers, which have 5,025 candidates. From the moment they opened, the centers were operating at full capacity, with a large number of students, proctors, and examiners on site, all supported by the defense and security forces deployed to ensure the safety of the exams.
To this end, the deputy governor in charge of development, accompanied by administrative authorities, education officials, law enforcement officials, representatives of parents of students and representatives of teachers' unions, visited three pilot centers in the communes of Matam, Ourossogui and Ogo.
This tour allowed him to ensure the smooth running of the exams and to evaluate the organizational system deployed to guarantee a good session.
At the end of the visit, Tafsir Baba Hanne expressed his satisfaction: "All the commitments made during the preparatory meeting were fully respected by all parties involved." He praised the mobilization of parents, the Red Cross, and youth movements, which enabled students to take their exams in excellent conditions.
At the start of the tests, candidates were reminded of a strict ban on the use of phones and connected devices, with the risk of immediate exclusion for offenders.
