Avance de 37 milliards FCFA : « L’argent n’a pas disparu, il est garanti »
In an interview with Walf TV, reprinted by Walf Quotidien, José Ángel González Tausz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AEE Power EPC, firmly denies the accusations of leaks and embezzlement. He confirms having received an initial advance of 56 million euros, or approximately 37 billion CFA francs, on a total contract of 140 million euros (nearly 92 billion CFA francs) for the electrification of 1,700 Senegalese villages.
The Spanish executive asserts that this money is indeed recorded in the company's accounts and is fully covered by guarantees and bank sureties validated by ASER and approved by the Ministry of Finance. In essence, the source speaking to the Front de Terre press group's daily newspaper refutes the idea that the funds have disappeared: "The money hasn't disappeared; it's guaranteed."
