A high-level meeting was held on Monday, June 29, between the State of Senegal, through PETROSEN and the Directorate General for Cooperation and Monitoring of Operations (DGCSO), and Woodside Energy, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Dr. El Hadj Abdourahmane Diouf.

The Executive Vice President of Woodside Energy, after praising the quality of the partnership developed with the Senegalese authorities and PETROSEN, congratulated the teams on the realization of what he described as a historic investment. He also outlined the main stages of the project before presenting the planned directions for its continued development.

The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, for his part, reaffirmed the government's desire to evolve relations with Woodside Energy towards a genuine strategic partnership, based on a common vision of development, value creation and mutual benefits.

In this context, Minister Abdourahmane Diouf emphasized the need for a comprehensive and coordinated approach to future negotiations. He stated that discussions must integrate technical, fiscal, contractual, and gas-related aspects within a single framework to ensure greater consistency in decision-making.

The Minister of Energy and Petroleum also emphasized two priorities: the optimal development of national gas and the preservation of Senegal's strategic interests in the development of its energy resources.

Ils disaient qu'ils allaient sortir du cfa et renégocier les contrats de partage et de production d'hydrocarbures. Je vois que diomaye fait revenir Thierno Seydou ly à pétrosen. Les faits sont tétus et le populisme n'a jamais développé un pays.
