The daily hydrological bulletin from the Saint-Louis water resources brigade reports a calm situation across the entire Senegal River basin. All stations are showing levels significantly lower than at the same time last year and remain well below alert levels.

At the Manantali reservoir, the Bafing River level is at 203.47 m (IGN datum) this morning, compared to 208.34 m projected for the same date in 2025. The turbine flow rate is 192 m³/s.

As a reminder, the normal level of the reservoir is 208.05 m and the exceptional level is 211 m.

On the tributaries, the trend is towards a slight rise. On the Falémé at Kidira, the water level rose from 2.88 m yesterday to 3.26 m this morning, a rise of 38 cm, compared to 6.88 m in 2025.

On the Bakoye at Oualia, the level is at 4.43 m compared to 4.29 m yesterday, a rise of 14 cm, compared to 4.53 m last year.

On the main river, the same slight rise is observed. In Bakel, the level is at 5.11 m compared to 5.10 m yesterday, a rise of 1 cm, whereas it was at 10.45 m in 2025 for an alert level set at 10 m.

In Matam, the level is at 4.40 m compared to 4.36 m yesterday, up 4 cm, compared to 8.44 m in 2025 for an alert of 8 m.

In Podor, the water level is at 3.20 m compared to 3.15 m yesterday, up 5 cm, compared to 5.21 m in 2025 for an alert of 5 m.

At Richard-Toll, the level is at 2.63 m compared to 2.60 m yesterday, up 3 cm compared to 3.05 m in 2025 for an alert at 3.35 m.

At Diama upstream, the level is at 2.14 m compared to 1.6 m in 2025. The release rate is 576 m3/s compared to 1610 m3/s last year.

According to the brigade, the upstream water level is being lowered to prepare for the passage of the flood without major impact on Saint-Louis. This lowering allows for the channeling of water towards the old town and the river mouth, whose proximity facilitates rapid drainage.

Finally, in Saint-Louis, the level was at 0.96 m on September 18 compared to 1.26 m in 2025, for an alert level of 1.75 m.

Therefore, no immediate threat has been reported on the delta.
