Météo : Pluies au Sud, ciel couvert à Dakar, les prévisions complètes de l’ANACIM
The National Agency for Civil Aviation and Meteorology (ANACIM) has released its latest weather forecast. By combining data from the very short-term daily bulletin (No. 243) and the 72-hour trends (Bulletin No. 174), the weather conditions across Senegal will be characterized by alternating periods of localized thunderstorms, periods of stability, and continued high humidity.
First 24 hours: rain in the South, the Centre and along the coast
From Thursday, September 3rd to Friday, September 4th, 2026, atmospheric instability will prevail over several areas of the country. Rain and thunderstorms are expected in places in the South (Ziguinchor, Kolda, Sédhiou and Kédougou) as well as in the Central region (Kaffrine, Kaolack, Fatick and Thiès).
In Dakar, Diourbel, and the surrounding areas, the sky will remain very cloudy with a risk of localized showers. Along the northern coast, dense cloud cover will bring light rain, particularly to Louga, Cayar, and Saint-Louis.
In the eastern part of the country and the rest of the territory, the weather will remain generally stable despite some occasional cloud cover. A general lull in the weather is expected across the country during Friday morning.
Weekend outlook: stability in the North-Central region, return of rain to the South
From Friday until the night of Sunday, September 6, calm weather will settle over the northern half and the Centre.
This respite will be short-lived for the southern regions, however. ANACIM is forecasting a return of rain and thunderstorms to the south starting Saturday.
The humid heat is still firmly in place.
As for temperatures, the oppressive heat will not ease over the next 72 hours. Despite a slight drop in maximum temperatures recorded this Thursday, with values between 29°C (in Dakar) and 35°C (in Tambacounda), the feeling of humid heat will persist, and temperatures will rise slightly again by the weekend.
Navigation conditions: optimal visibility
Visibility: excellent across the entire national territory throughout the entire period.
Winds will blow from the west to southwest with a low to moderate intensity.
Marine weather (Dakar): High tide recorded at 12:53 this Thursday (1.62 m), before high tide expected Friday at 1:20 (1.61 m) and 13:53 (1.51 m).
