Situation hydrologique du fleuve Sénégal : Le niveau est à 3,66 m
The hydrological situation of the Senegal River for the 2026 rainy season shows remarkable stability at the Podor station, located at the El Hadj Boubou Sall quay.
On Friday, September 11, 2026, at 8:00 AM, the water level stood at 3.66 meters. The trend remains virtually unchanged compared to the previous day, when the same height of 3.66 meters was recorded at the same time. This level is significantly lower than that of the previous year.
Historical data shows that the current situation is much more moderate than last year, when the river reached a height of 4.93 meters, nearly reaching its critical threshold. As a reminder, the official alert level at the Podor station is set at 5 meters.
Although the trend is toward stabilization and the water level remains below the critical threshold, authorities and observers are urging vigilance and caution along the riverbanks. Increased supervision is recommended for children, livestock, and domestic animals.
It is also advisable to ensure the monitoring and protection of work areas, tools and installations located at the edge of the waterway (canoes, fishing nets, floating containers, motor pumps, etc.).
