[EXCLUSIF] Accablé par son oncle, Reug Reug sur PV : « Avec tout ce que je gagne dans mes combats de lutte et de MMA, je n'ai pas besoin d'argent provenant de faux billets »
Wrestler Oumar Kane, aka "Reug Reug , 34, was brought before a judge on charges of conspiracy, attempted fraud, and possession of materials intended for counterfeiting legal tender. He was subsequently released under judicial supervision. A few days after his release, Seneweb revisits the content of his interrogation at the Faidherbe Criminal Investigation Brigade.
Investigators from the Faidherbe research brigade questioned the wrestler and recorded his statement on September 25th. He was assisted by his lawyers, Michel Ndong, Abdoulaye Tall, and Souleymane Soumare.
In his statement, Oumar Kane indicated that he was aware of the facts that led to the investigation. He explained that Ahmadou Bamba Ndiaye, also known as "Usine ," is his maternal uncle and that he was in charge of the mystical matters related to his wrestling matches. According to him, his uncle had entrusted him, four days earlier, with a wrapped box that he had kept at his home.
On Thursday, September 24, 2026, while at home, he received a phone call from his uncle asking him to bring a package to an apartment in Hann-Maristes. Upon arrival, he handed the box to Ahmadou Bamba Ndiaye. It was at this point that the gendarmes of the BR (Brigade de Recherche - Research Brigade) arrested them.
The wrestler explained that when he went to hand the box to his uncle, one of the people he found in the living room tried to place the package under his feet. He immediately pushed them back towards his uncle, Ahmadou Bamba Ndiaye.
The investigators' questions
When asked about Diégane Faye, alias "Saltigué When asked about Diégou , Oumar Kane replied that he didn't know him. He repeated the same thing when asked if he had greeted him upon arrival: "No, I don't even know him."
When questioned about his presence in the apartment where he was arrested, he replied that he had come to deliver to his uncle the wrapped box he had entrusted to him. Investigators asked him how long ago Ahmadou Bamba Ndiaye had given him the box, which they described as containing black banknotes. He replied: four days ago.
But he claimed not to know the contents of the box at that time, as his uncle had simply asked him to bring it without specifying what was inside. The box was closed and wrapped when it was given to him, and it still was when he brought it to the Marist apartment.
Investigators then recounted the version of events given by his uncle, Ahmadou Bamba Ndiaye. According to him, before going to the meeting, his nephew told him to check things out before arriving with the box of cash. The wrestler replied that when his uncle called, he was training at Thiaroye beach. His uncle had contacted him by phone, on his number. He transported the box to the meeting place in his Mazda.
Investigators presented the wrestler with another statement from his uncle: that when he handed him the box, he was aware it contained counterfeit banknotes, and his uncle had told him to take them to the apartment where he was arrested. Oumar Kane denied this again: "No, he didn't tell me what was in the box."
When asked what his uncle had said to him when asking him to join him at the Marists, he replied that he had simply asked him to bring him the box he had entrusted to him.
Opening the box
When asked what he knew about the purpose of the meeting upon his arrival, the wrestler stated that he had not been aware of it beforehand. He did, however, acknowledge that the box had been opened in his presence in the apartment. He then discovered that it contained black banknotes.
Upon this discovery, his reaction, in his own words, was to glance at his uncle Ahmadou Bamba Ndiaye without uttering a word. Investigators asked him if he would have agreed to keep the box at his home had his uncle told him what it contained. His response: “No, I would never have agreed to have the box entrusted to me, because the law forbids it.” He acknowledged being aware that counterfeit banknotes are strictly prohibited under Senegalese law.
The investigators asked him why he had stayed at the scene after learning what was going on. He replied that he had not left the apartment because his uncle Ahmadou Bamba Ndiaye had asked him to.
Contacts with Diégane Faye denied
The wrestler later stated that he had never communicated with Diégane Faye, alias "Saltigué". Diégou ," nor had he ever been to his house. He added, however, that the latter had sent him the location of the place that same day, after his uncle had given him his phone number.
"I don't need money from counterfeit bills."
When asked if he had anything else to add, Oumar Kane concluded by highlighting his income. With all that he earns from his wrestling and MMA fights, he has "absolutely no" need for money from counterfeiting or black money, according to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb.
Placed under judicial supervision following his arraignment, the wrestler is still being prosecuted in this case.
