Double meurtre d'Aziz Dabala et Waly : Les tests ADN sont tombés, le sort Nabou Léye et Tarba Mbaye scellé !
New developments have emerged in the investigation into the double murder of El Hadji Abdoul Aziz Ba, known as Aziz Dabala, and Boubacar Gano, known as Waly. DNA samples taken from the crime scene have provisionally exonerated all the suspects charged in the case, including dancer Marème Léye, known as Nabou Léye, and singer Tarba Mbaye, with the exception of the main suspect, Mamadou Lamine Diaw, alias Modou Lo, who is heavily implicated by corroborating evidence gathered by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC), according to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb.
A look back at the facts
The lifeless bodies of the two victims were discovered on August 19, 2024 in their apartment located in Pikine Technopole. Six people were then charged in this case: Mamadou Lamine Diaw, Assane Diaw, Ousseynou Diaw, Serigne Sarr known as Ndeuss Pata, Babacar Ba alias Mbaye Fall, and Marème Léye known as Nabou Léye, prosecuted for criminal association, murder with acts of barbarity, theft and receiving stolen goods.
Mamadou Lamine Diaw, who had confessed to the double crime upon his arrest in Touba, later recanted his confession, implicating the artist Tarba Mbaye and the dancer Nabou Leye, whom he presented as co-perpetrators of the double murder.
On December 18, 2025, the investigating judge of the first chamber of the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court instructed the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) to authorize the arrest and questioning, under police custody, of singer Tarba Mbaye. This decision followed a further substantive interrogation of Mamadou Lamine Diaw the previous day, during which he recanted all of his initial confessions.
He then claimed that the whole affair had been fabricated by Nabou Léye and Tarba Mbaye, who had recruited him to intimidate Aziz Dabala, who possessed compromising videos of the two alleged lovers. According to this new version, Aziz Dabala was stabbed to death by Nabou Léye, while Waly Gano was killed by multiple stab wounds inflicted by Tarba Mbaye.
When questioned by investigators, Tarba Mbaye categorically denied all accusations, stating that he had never been in contact, either physically or by telephone, with Mamadou Lamine Diaw. The formal request sent to the telephone company confirmed his statements: according to Seneweb sources, the singer was never in the vicinity of the crime scene, neither the day before, nor the day of, nor the day after the double murder. Informed of this information, the presiding judge of the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court ordered his release.
A new judicial order was then issued to identify the owner of a phone number that was in constant contact with Boubacar Gano's. The investigation established that this number belonged to a neighbor of the victims, living on the floor above. When questioned, she confirmed that she had a good relationship with Boubacar Gano, with whom she regularly spoke on the phone, adding that he also borrowed lighting equipment from her for his videos posted on TikTok.
DNA analyses from CIGASS
To complete the investigation with decisive scientific evidence, the International Center for Research and Training in Applied Genomics and Health Surveillance (CIGASS) was contacted, through its Director General, to re-examine the crime scene, collect traces of blood and carry out DNA analyses.
Samples taken by CIGASS staff, under the supervision of the DIC and the Technical and Scientific Police Division (DPTS), yielded four DNA profiles. Saliva samples taken from all suspects, as well as from relatives of the victims, were then used for comparison. Two profiles were found to belong to the victims, a third to Mamadou Lamine Diaw, and a fourth, unidentified profile was found on a piece of broken glass near Aziz Dabala's body in the living room, according to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb. Given its location on the debris of the shattered coffee table, this last profile could belong to someone who arrived at the scene after the bodies were discovered.
In the bathroom, where Boubacar Gano's body was found, Mamadou Lamine Diaw's blood was also found mixed with that of the victim.
The conclusions of the DIC
Apart from Mamadou Lamine Diaw's DNA profile, no profile matching the other suspects prosecuted for related offenses was found at the crime scene. According to investigators, the version of events presented by Mamadou Lamine Diaw during his substantive questioning before the judge appears to be a maneuver intended to evade criminal responsibility.
At the conclusion of this second judicial delegation, the DIC investigators determined that the scientific results of the DNA tests fully corroborate Mamadou Lamine Diaw's initial statements, which were confirmed by the forensic science report. The presence of his blood throughout the apartment, as well as a wound on his left arm sustained during the violent altercation that resulted in the deaths of the two victims, confirms his involvement in the double murder.
Mamadou Lamine Diaw finds himself heavily implicated by this investigation, swiftly conducted by the DIC, an elite unit of the National Police, under the command of Inspector General Mame Seydou Ndour. The ball is now in the investigating magistrate's court.
