A 24-year-old street vendor was found dead on Thursday, November 5, 2026, in the Grand Standing neighborhood of Thiès, three days after his wedding. According to initial reports, he took his own life due to a perceived affront to his masculinity. The public prosecutor has ordered an investigation.
On Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 7:50 a.m., S. BA, a merchant residing in Sofraco, contacted the police station in the Parcelles-Assainies district of Thiès. He reported the discovery of the lifeless body of his cousin, A. BA, in the Grand Standing neighborhood.
Upon arrival, police officers found four people at the entrance of a terraced house. The apartment, located on the ground floor, comprises four bedrooms, a living room, an outside toilet, a kitchen, and two courtyards.
