10 kg de drogue et deux cartes de transfert d'argent : La gendarmerie de Nianing met à nu un trafic bien huilé
On Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., the local brigade of Nianing, under the Mbour company, seized 10 kg of Indian hemp hidden in the trunk of a Peugeot 307, whose driver fled when the gendarmes approached.
As part of the intensification of patrols and checks of vehicles with tinted windows carried out against drug trafficking, the members of the local brigade of Nianing intercepted a Peugeot 307 which came from Joal near the residences of Nianing.
Before the police could even begin the check, the driver suddenly fled, abandoning his vehicle. Inside the Peugeot, the police discovered a package containing 10 kg of cannabis hidden in the trunk. Two money transfer cards (Wave and Orange Money) were also found in the car.
The drugs and the vehicle used to deliver the prohibited substance were seized and impounded at the unit pending instructions from Prosecutor Augustin Yakhar Faye, head of the Mbour prosecutor's office. The driver, still at large, is the subject of an active manhunt.
