40 millions FCFA, bijoux en or, 4X4 GMC… : elle encaisse les cadeaux du chef d'entreprise généreux et se…
According to the court report published by L'Observateur, the Dakar court of flagrant offenses examined a case of "dowry fraud" and breach of trust opposing PS Ndiaye, head of the company "Aide Afrique", to his ex-partner, A. Ba.
The two met in 2021 and had planned to marry, the newspaper reports. According to the plaintiff, this prospect led him to shower his partner and her family with lavish gifts. Quoted by the same source, he claims to have given her three plots of land in the Dakar region, a house with a land title intended to become their marital home, a GMC vehicle registered in his name in 2023, and gold jewelry valued at 40 million CFA francs.
The businessman also claims to have financed several successive apartments: a first luxury apartment, another in Mermoz rented at 300,000 FCFA per month, then a third in Cité Keur Gorgui for a rent of 400,000 FCFA per month, while also giving him 500,000 FCFA of pocket money each month.
Ndiaye also stated that he had facilitated his partner's career advancement, notably by arranging her recruitment at Ageroute, where she earned over one million per month, before bringing her into his own company, "Aide Afrique," where she worked as a project assistant for a monthly salary of 1.5 million. Finally, he claims to have withdrawn approximately 10 million from his account at the BNDE to finance the plane tickets for the young woman's parents' pilgrimage to Mecca.
The plaintiff explained that while in the United States, he learned that A. Ba had ultimately been given in marriage to another man. According to his statements, she herself informed him of this by telephone on November 23, 2025, and the marriage took place five days later, on November 28.
In court, the defendant categorically denied the accusations of fraud and breach of trust. Detailing her background, she recalled having worked on a World Bank project, then at the firm "MSA" for eight months, before joining "Aide Afrique" at the request of her ex-partner.
She firmly maintained that she had never given her final consent to a marriage with him, asserting that all the gifts she received were freely given. Regarding the tickets to Mecca, she argued that they were a financial arrangement deducted from her own salary according to a 10-month payment plan.
At the conclusion of the proceedings, the prosecution requested the application of the law. The defense, represented by lawyers Taha Cissé and Sarr, argued for acquittal. Paraphrasing Charles Baudelaire ("I am the wound and the knife, I am the blow and the cheek"), the lawyers emphasized the complete absence of fraudulent maneuvers or forgery. Following the defense's line of reasoning, the court ultimately dismissed the charges against A. Ba, without penalty or costs.
