Autoroute à péage : un suicide évité de justesse
On October 28th, the Cité Assurance overpass nearly became the scene of a tragedy. It was around 3 p.m. that day, Libération recounts. Near the bridge that spans the toll highway, Mr. Touré, a resident of Hamo 6 suffering from depression, was about to jump. He hadn't counted on the vigilance of CT Diop.
Witnessing the scene, he intervened in time. He then took the individual to the police station. The fire department was then called in to transfer him to a psychiatric facility, the newspaper reports.
An hour later, at 4 p.m., the mystery was solved at the Jaxaay police station. A woman, A. Touré, arrived there breathless. Quoted by the same source, she identified the man in question as her brother and revealed that he had suffered from mental health issues since 2015 and had already been hospitalized in 2022. Mr. Touré was placed in the custody of the relevant authorities, pending the order for his continued hospitalization.
