Diamaguène: The child rapist was watching through the keyhole; a neighbor saw everything.

In July 2022, A. Sarr (38 years old), a blacksmith and close friend of the Thiam family, with whom he was a regular visitor, allegedly forced his way into the family apartment in Diamaguène. According to the account in L'Observateur, he took advantage of the fact that Nd. F. Thiam, then 14 years old, was getting out of the shower to force her onto a mattress, gag her with a towel, threaten her with a knife, and then rape her.

The victim remained silent for several months, paralyzed by fear. It was her father, worried by her change in behavior and her sadness, who finally got her to confide in him. Medical examinations subsequently revealed a previous rupture of the hymen as well as a vulvovaginal infection.

The Observer also points out that the case is supported by the testimony of a young neighbor, D. Fall. She claims to have repeatedly caught the accused spying on the teenager through the keyhole while she was showering, which would tend to demonstrate prior reconnaissance.

In court, Abdoulaye Sarr, who has a prior conviction for arson, denied all the accusations. He denounced a family conspiracy and maintained that the victim was in a relationship with a young man from the neighborhood.

His lawyers argued for acquittal, citing contradictions in the testimonies and contesting the combined charges of rape and pedophilia. The prosecution, considering the facts established, dismissed the conspiracy theory and requested a ten-year prison sentence, concludes the newspaper of the Futurs Médias group. The verdict of the Criminal Chamber is expected on September 1st.
