Diamaguène Sicap Mbao: A punitive expedition uncovers a drug trafficking network; five people arrested.

A seemingly minor fight reported at the home of a famous wrestler ultimately led police in Diamaguène Sicap Mbao to dismantle a suspected drug trafficking network. The police operation, which took place on the night of July 18-19, 2026, resulted in the arrest of five individuals charged with conspiracy, drug trafficking, kidnapping, theft, and complicity.

According to reports, the Diamaguène Sicap Mbao district police station was alerted to a violent altercation at the home of a well-known local wrestler. A team from the Criminal Investigation Brigade immediately went to the scene and took five people to the police station for questioning.

Initial investigations led to the discovery of one of the suspects at the wrestler's house. Suffering from a head injury and wearing blood-stained clothes, he explained to investigators that the attack stemmed from a dispute over money obtained through drug trafficking.

During his hearing, he revealed that 300,000 FCFA, proceeds from drug sales and entrusted to a shopkeeper, had been stolen by an individual who is currently at large. This individual allegedly then gave him 80,000 FCFA in exchange for his silence and complicity.

After learning of the money's disappearance, three individuals allegedly went to his home to retrieve it before taking him to a house under construction belonging to the wrestler, where he was brutally beaten. They accused him of facilitating the theft of this sum, which drug dealers regularly deposited at the shopkeeper's home to evade police checks.

When questioned in turn, the shopkeeper admitted that he was holding the traffickers' money, claiming that he had acted under threat of reprisals.

The five suspects have been taken into custody. The investigation continues in order to apprehend the main suspect, who is still at large, and to fully uncover the ramifications of this drug trafficking network.
