Diamniadio : Plus de 4 kg de drogue saisis, deux Sierra-Léonais interpellés par la BRS de Dakar
Elements of the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS), attached to the OCRTIS, arrested two Sierra Leonean nationals in the Santé Yalla district of Diamniadio on July 20, 2026, between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., in possession of 3.110 kg of kush and 1 kg of Indian hemp.
The accused have been identified as Arnold Nelson, 23, and Souleymane Saffa, 29, both masons residing in Diamniadio.
These arrests follow the exploitation of intelligence indicating a vast kush and Indian hemp trafficking network operating in the Diamniadio area, and run by the two Sierra Leoneans. They were found to be in possession of a significant quantity of drugs at their home, intended for redistribution.
After identifying the targeted residence, a discreet surveillance operation was set up. On the day of the operation, investigators received information indicating an imminent delivery of kush by a man named Nelson.
A stakeout that leads to the home of a first suspect
After several hours of staking out the house, an individual behaving suspiciously approached the gate. His arrest led to the discovery, in his right trouser pocket, of two 20-gram bags of kush and two small packets of the same drug. A Samsung mobile phone was also seized from him.
When questioned, the individual admitted to being the owner of the drug and named a certain " Oshua " as his supplier, before agreeing to lead investigators to his home.
On site, police determined that the man known as " Oshua " was none other than Souleymane Saffa. A search of his room led to the seizure of two 20g bags and five 10g bags of kush, as well as an Android phone and 5,000 CFA francs.
Discovery of the main storage location
When asked to cooperate, Souleymane Saffa revealed that a room rented at Arnold Nelson's home was being used to store narcotics. A search of the room resulted in the discovery of 3 kg of loose kush and 1 kg of loose Indian hemp, as well as two electronic scales, plastic bags, and four bottles of Vanda brand solvent, one empty and one partially used.
The two suspects were taken into custody for conspiracy and possession of drugs (kush and Indian hemp) for the purpose of trafficking. Prosecutor Cheikh Diakhoumpa, head of the prosecutor's office at the Rufisque High Court, was informed of the facts.
