Horreur à Ziguinchor : un nouveau-né retrouvé démembré à Colobane
The central police station in Ziguinchor was notified on July 27, 2026, at 6:45 p.m., of the discovery of the lifeless body of a newborn baby in the Colobane neighborhood, near a bridge located behind the Silence Hospital. Investigators at the scene found the baby completely dismembered and in a very advanced state of decomposition, lying face down and covered in flies, according to Seneweb sources.
According to statements made by A. Sow, 21, a car washer residing in Kobitène, who was found at the scene, his attention was drawn to a figure in the grass as he was returning from work. This figure turned out to be the body of a newborn baby. He then alerted the fire department before informing the police.
On the instructions of the public prosecutor's office, Dr. PA Diallo, deputy chief physician of Silence Hospital, went to the scene to conduct an investigation before the body was buried there. An inquiry has been opened.
