Hairdresser GA Araman was arrested by the Jaxaay police station for indecent assault and attempted rape. His alleged victim? A 13-year-old girl named KM. Overcome by a sudden urge to relieve herself, she entered a house under construction.
"As she was putting on her pants, [the accused] stood in front of her, pulling down his panties. When she tried to scream, he slammed her against the wall while putting his hand over her mouth," reports Libération, which recounts this story.
KM owed his life to the intervention of I. Guèye, who was observing the scene from a distance. "It was thus that, knowing he had been discovered, G. Abraham Araman rushed to leave the building first. But he was apprehended and taken to the police station," the newspaper recounts.
The same source adds that the alleged victim revealed to investigators that the hairdresser had repeatedly made advances toward her in the past, seeking to sleep with her. "During brief questioning, the suspect attempted to deny the allegations, but his denials were unconvincing," Libération concludes.
