Thiès : La jeune fille qui avait fait incarcérer son père pour viol arrêtée pour avortement clandestin !
S. Siby, an 18-year-old girl, finds herself at the center of a legal case once again. After accusing her biological father of rape in July 2025, statements which led to his imprisonment, she was arrested as part of an investigation this time into a clandestine abortion.
According to the investigation, the young woman had become pregnant by her boyfriend, a married man and father. Not wanting to carry the pregnancy to term, she decided to have an abortion without medical assistance, taking care to conceal her condition from those around her.
At approximately four months pregnant, S. Siby went to a pharmacy on August 7th to obtain emmenagogue medication. After taking the medication, she experienced severe abdominal pain followed by heavy metrorrhagia in her bedroom.
Faced with the hemorrhage, she was eventually evacuated to a hospital. However, she continued to conceal the truth from the medical staff, getting herself treated for simple anemia.
Her condition deteriorated the following day, and she had to be urgently readmitted to the hospital and placed under medical observation. Intrigued by the clinical picture, the medical staff decided to perform a pelvic ultrasound to identify the exact cause of the complications.
The young girl refused to submit to the examination before fleeing from the hospital, prompting the management of the establishment to alert the police.
The investigation launched by the central police station in Thiès quickly led to the arrest of S. Siby and her mother. The mother maintained to investigators that she was completely unaware of her daughter's actions. Ordered by the detectives to retrieve the substances consumed from the family home, the mother allowed the seizure of a large quantity of medication, comprising more than ten different varieties.
Following initial questioning, the mother was released, while the young woman was taken into custody. The investigation then shifted to the home of the alleged boyfriend, where he was arrested, as was a maternal aunt of the suspect. The aunt is suspected of attempting to cover up the illegal abortion by disguising the symptoms as an anemia crisis.
S. Siby, her lover, and her aunt were taken into custody at the central police station in Thiès before being released on a summons. They are due to appear before investigators again this Wednesday at 4 p.m. for further proceedings.
