Trafic de chanvre indien à Golf-Sud: un menuisier de 24 ans arrêté avec 2,5 kg de drogue
A marijuana trafficker was arrested on Sunday around 3:30 p.m. in Cambérène 2 by officers from the Golf-Sud district police station's Criminal Investigation Unit. The suspect, 24-year-old I. Badji, who identified himself as a carpenter and a resident of Golf-Sud, was apprehended following a meticulously planned operation.
Acting on precise information about the suspect's address, investigators set up a stakeout at 1:30 p.m. After observing a suspicious flow of customers, they managed to pose as buyers and order drugs. The suspected trafficker was apprehended during the delivery and taken back to his home for a search.
The search of his room proved fruitful: five bags of Indian hemp, for a total weight of 2.5 kilograms, a roll of aluminum foil, the sum of 21,000 CFA francs presented as the proceeds of the sale, as well as a Jakarta brand motorcycle were seized.
When questioned by investigators, I. BADJI reportedly admitted without hesitation to being a drug trafficker. Although officially residing in Golf Sud, he allegedly rented a room in Cambérène 2 to distribute his merchandise.
He was taken into custody for possession and trafficking of marijuana. The public prosecutor has been notified and the investigation is ongoing.
