Trafic de kush, d'ecstasy et de tramadol : L’OCRTIS démantèle un vaste réseau au "Garage malien", 21 personnes déférées
The Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) has dealt a severe blow to drug trafficking in the suburbs of Dakar. According to Seneweb, following an operation carried out at the "Malian Garage" in Zac Mbao, 21 individuals, including five Senegalese, six Malians, eight Guineans, two Bissau-Guineans and one Ivorian (including three women), were arrested and then brought before the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office on July 12.
The gang is being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, complicity in drug trafficking, and drug use. They will be tried on July 15th for flagrant offenses.
The operation follows the exploitation of anonymous information denouncing the existence of a network trafficking kush, Indian hemp, tramadol and ecstasy operating within this bus station which has become, over the months, an important drug sales point.
The detectives managed to infiltrate the network after several days of surveillance. An agent posed as a customer, buying a bag of kush for 3,000 CFA francs, thus giving the signal for the raid.
Police seized 73 bags of kush, three bags of Indian hemp, 11 tramadol tablets, seven ecstasy tablets, 105,000 CFA francs, two motorcycles, 21 mobile phones, and equipment used for packaging drugs.
The investigation revealed a well-organized network where each member played a specific role as a supplier, dealer, or facilitator. Several suspects admitted to being users, while others denied any involvement despite the evidence gathered by investigators, including CCTV footage, incriminating WhatsApp conversations, and the discovery of narcotics and packaging materials.
Investigators are particularly focused on the confession of Mr. Ndiaye, who presented himself as a kush dealer and identified a certain "Tyson" as the network's main supplier. Other suspects, already convicted of drug-related offenses, are among those arrested.
As part of the investigation, a shopkeeper, based at "Garage The Malian man who was questioned claims to have repeatedly alerted the authorities about the presence of traffickers at the bus station. He even says he received death threats because of his reports.
According to investigators, the "Garage The Malian area has become a strategic hub for drug trafficking, following the relocation of some criminal networks to the region. Police believe trucks from neighboring countries may be used in the supply chains.
The investigation continues in order to identify and arrest individuals suspected of being suppliers to the network, such as "Tyson ," "Capi" " And “Kaizcum ”.
