Illegal sale of medicines in Touba: the baptism of fire for the new Tawfekh police station

Three individuals were arrested on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, around 2 p.m. in Touba for illegally selling pharmaceuticals and aphrodisiacs in public. The operation was carried out by officers from the Research Brigade of the new Touba Tawfekh district police station, who were on daytime patrol in their area of responsibility.

They are G. Ndiaye, 58 years old, A. Sall, 38 years old, and A. Ndiaye, 34 years old. All three describe themselves as traders and are residents of Touba.

The suspects were apprehended near the "Mbar-Yaa" market in Madiyana, each in possession of a significant quantity of aphrodisiacs and pharmaceutical products. In total, police seized 1,042 boxes of tablets, along with several hundred packets and sachets of various other products, according to Seneweb sources.

Among the aphrodisiac products identified were 202 packs of Purugrey 100mg, 130 packs of Reality extra, 73 packs of Cocra 100mg, 65 packs of Vieng-ray, 47 packs of Hemigra 100mg, 37 packs of Super-hemigra and 35 packs of Power-max, as well as sachets of sexy tonic tea and AK17 coffee.

On the pharmaceutical side, the seizure includes among other things 107 boxes of Diclopera, 70 boxes of Primenitine, 33 boxes of Diclopara, 23 boxes of Aburita-Max, 20 boxes of Kilipane, 17 boxes of Gama-dexamethasim, as well as boxes of Ronfi-forte, Gentamini, Sidrex, Suderex, Cortim and various other medications.

The three individuals were taken into custody and the public prosecutor was notified. The investigation is ongoing.
