Maroc : 400 Sénégalais migrants rapatriés ce vendredi
Four hundred Senegalese nationals housed in the centers of Argoub and Bir-Gandouz, in southern Morocco, are affected by a voluntary return operation which begins this Friday, October 30.
According to a diplomatic source quoted by the Senegalese Press Agency (APS), ten 40-seater buses have been mobilized to provide transportation. Three vehicles are scheduled to depart this Friday, while the remaining trips are planned for November 3rd and 5th. Another operation is also planned for the second week of the month.
This operation follows several interceptions at sea. Between October 19 and 25, the Royal Moroccan Navy intercepted three pirogues carrying more than 500 people, including nearly 300 Senegalese. Women and children, including infants, were among the passengers who had departed from the Senegalese and Gambian coasts.
Meanwhile, reception facilities in the south of the kingdom are facing a large influx. Approximately 800 migrants, mainly from Senegal, Gambia, Mali, and Guinea, have been registered there in recent days, complicating their care.
