Neemba Senegal delivered a fleet of 13 Cat® heavy-duty machines to SFTP CIVIL, an African mining, construction, and infrastructure services company, on Thursday, July 23, 2026. This significant acquisition will allow SFTP CIVIL to strengthen its fleet and operational capabilities to support the execution of mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects in Senegal and throughout West Africa. The official ceremony took place at its Sangalkam branch (Rufisque), in the presence of Mr. Pierre Fonkenell, Country Director of Neemba Senegal, and Mr. Yamadou Diallo, Director of SFTP Mining.

A strategic delivery to strengthen SFTP CIVIL's operational capabilities

The delivered fleet includes several Cat® machines, namely: hydraulic excavators, loaders, backhoe loaders, graders, and bulldozers. These machines, intended for the operational needs of SFTP CIVIL, will be used in various areas of the company's work, including earthmoving, road construction, civil engineering, quarrying, and land development.

According to the Country Director of Neemba Senegal, beyond the handover of these machines, this delivery illustrates Neemba Senegal's ability to support its customers across the entire operational chain: technical support, maintenance, availability of parts, reconditioning, training and financing access solutions.

“In our line of work, supporting a client doesn’t just mean delivering a machine. It starts well before, with studying the needs and choosing the right equipment, and it continues over time with commissioning, machine monitoring, maintenance and parts availability. It is this vision of a sustainable partnership that we want to promote with SFTP CIVIL,” said Pierre Fonkenell, in the presence of his colleagues.

This operation is part of a long-term relationship between Neemba and SFTP CIVIL, based on trust, close collaboration, and operational excellence. It also comes at a time when African companies involved in major projects need not only high-performance equipment but also technical services capable of ensuring its continued availability.

“Today, we are not just celebrating the delivery of new equipment. We are affirming the ambition of an African company that invests, innovates, and provides the means to sustainably support infrastructure development projects on the continent. The most efficient equipment only reaches its full potential in the hands of committed, trained teams driven by the pursuit of excellence,” emphasized Mr. Yamadou Diallo, Managing Director of SFTP Mining, in the presence of, among others, its Technical Director, Mr. Ibrahima Diao.

Technical support to guarantee equipment availability

Neemba Senegal supports players in the mining, construction, infrastructure, energy and industrial sectors through the provision of equipment, maintenance, technical monitoring, availability of spare parts, refurbishment solutions and the integration of performance monitoring technologies.

The company relies in particular on the Dakar Component Reconditioning Center, inaugurated in June 2024 in Sangalkam. Spanning 3,000 m², this center has a processing capacity of 500 major components per year. It ensures the inspection, repair, reconditioning, and testing of major components, thus helping to extend their lifespan, reduce machine downtime, and increase equipment availability in the field. Reconditioning also represents a lever for environmental performance, reducing the carbon footprint by up to 90% compared to manufacturing new components.

The delivered Cat® equipment can also leverage fleet tracking and management technologies, enabling the collection of data related to machine usage, consumption, and condition. These tools help optimize equipment performance, maintenance, and availability.

Training and supporting African industrial skills

Neemba also focuses on upskilling technical teams. Through the Neemba Academy, dedicated to technical and maintenance professions, the Group helps train technicians, operators, and industrial professionals capable of meeting the specific needs of construction sites. More than 1,200 professionals have been trained by the Neemba Group to support the needs of major industrial projects across the continent.

A giant with a presence in 11 African countries

A Cat® dealer for over 90 years, the Neemba Group operates in 11 West African countries, supporting customers in the mining, construction, infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors. It employs over 2,500 people, including 850 technicians, and operates over 50,000 m² of local infrastructure, including parts warehouses, maintenance workshops, two component remanufacturing centers, a regional technical training center, and mobile service teams.

With its four values: leadership, innovation, dynamism and exemplary conduct, Neemba offers new or used equipment, original spare parts, technical support, as well as rental and financing solutions.

A pan-African group specializing in infrastructure construction

SFTP Civil (Société de Forage et de Travaux Publics Civils) is a pan-African group specializing in infrastructure construction. For over ten years, the company has been designing, building and managing public and private projects in the fields of public works, transport infrastructure, civil engineering, water and sanitation, urban development, mining and quarrying.
