Brésil : Flavio Bolsonaro devance Lula à la veille du second tour (sondages)
Conservative Flavio Bolsonaro is credited with 51% of voting intentions, compared to 49% for the outgoing president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, on the eve of the second round of the presidential election in Brazil, according to two opinion polls published Saturday.
The electoral duel will take place on Sunday between the left-wing leader, who is seeking a fourth non-consecutive term, and the eldest son of former far-right president Jair Bolsonaro.
Flavio Bolsonaro defied the polls by obtaining 47% of the votes in the first round three weeks ago, compared to 45% for Lula.
Surveys by the Datafolha and Quaest institutes show a gap between the two candidates within the margin of error.
Datafolha's previous poll, published on Thursday, showed them tied at 50%.
Datafolha's investigation was conducted from Thursday to Friday, without specifying whether interviews were carried out after the debate that took place Friday evening between the two rivals.
Quaest's campaign was conducted from Friday to Saturday, with both candidates mobilizing thousands of supporters in the streets in final displays of strength.
