France: Mediapart reveals it has been able to authenticate the anti-Semitic messages attributed to Jordan Bardella

France: Mediapart révèle avoir pu authentifier les messages antisémites attribués à Jordan Bardella

The investigative media outlet Mediapart revealed on Thursday, October 1, 2026, that it had been able to authenticate, via Facebook Meta's parent company and a bailiff, the anti-Semitic messages dating from 2013 attributed to the president of the National Rally, Jordan Bardella, who denies being the author.

After reporting, in an investigation published on Monday, September 28, on antisemitic writings attributed to Jordan Bardella, Mediapart has released new information this Thursday, October 1, while the president of the National Rally (RN) has vehemently denied the allegations. The online newspaper has published screenshots of antisemitic messages that Jordan Bardella allegedly sent to another person on the Messenger platform in 2013.

The interlocutor of the president of the RN asked Meta for a download of this Messenger conversation, the extraction of which was authenticated by a bailiff, according to Mediapart.

"This is indeed the real Jordan Bardella."

According to the newspaper, biographical details revealed in conversations by the account user prove that it was indeed the real Jordan Bardella: mother born in Italy, mention of an interview he gave to Le Parisien in 2013, or failure in the Sciences Po entrance exam.

"Extracting the conversation allows us to date it, to attest that this conversation has not been modified afterwards, and to confirm that the interlocutor of the conversation is referenced by Meta/Facebook under the name Jordan Bardella. The analysis of its content makes it possible to verify that it is indeed the real Jordan Bardella," Mediapart asserts.

The online newspaper published antisemitic messages on Monday dating back to 2013, which it attributes to Jordan Bardella, then a young activist in the party. This has thrown a wrench into the National Rally's presidential campaign, as its leader was widely expected to become Prime Minister should the poll favorite, Marine Le Pen, win.

Bardella denies everything again and will file a complaint "for forgery and use of forged documents".

Late Thursday, shortly after Mediapart published its evidence, the 31-year-old politician reacted and again denied being the author of antisemitic messages. In a message posted on X, Jordan Bardella denounced "Mediapart's pseudo-evidence." He referred to "crude fabrications, obscure and easily manipulated screenshots, reproducing vile remarks that I obviously never made."

The elements of Mediapart "will not hold up for a second in court," assures the president of the RN, who has instructed his lawyer to "file a complaint for forgery and use of forged documents, in addition to the complaint already filed for defamation."

“All the banks are owned by Jews”; “Jews must dominate other peoples, crush and rob them; a Zionist is necessarily Jewish, and deeply so,” Jordan Bardella reportedly wrote, though he “formally” denies being the author of these messages. “As for Soral, I say his analyses are correct because everything is borne out by the facts,” he also reportedly wrote, denouncing “France’s submission to Zionist logic.” The Mediapart investigation, published on Monday, reveals his “fascination” with Alain Soral, the antisemitic and Holocaust-denying ideologue who severed his ties with the National Front (since renamed the National Rally) in 2009.

In a lengthy message posted on X late Wednesday afternoon, September 30, Jordan Bardella reiterated that he was facing "the most despicable accusation ever levelled against me." "I cannot tolerate this affront... I will never tolerate orchestrated campaigns whose sole objective is the political assassination of a man," declared the president of the National Rally, denouncing "unfair, unjust, and mendacious treatment."
