Iran: The army chief of staff promises $30,000 to anyone who kills or captures a US soldier.

Iran : le chef d'état-major de l'armée promet 30.000 dollars à toute personne qui tue ou capture un soldat américain

Iranian army chief of staff and former defense minister Amir Hatami announced Sunday a reward of $30,000, or nearly €25,900, for anyone who kills or captures an American soldier.

A bounty has been placed on the heads of American soldiers in the region. Iranian army chief of staff Amir Hatami offered a reward of $30,000 (approximately €25,900) on Sunday for anyone who kills or captures an American soldier.

"Anyone who kills or captures and delivers an invading American soldier will receive a reward equivalent to $30,000 or 5 billion tomans from the army of the Islamic Republic of Iran," said Amir Hatami.

Iran's former defense minister, who served from 2017 to 2021, said that "a large number of requests" had been made to pursue this goal, according to the state news agency IRNA.

A doubled bonus for Iranian women

"The courageous Iranian women who perform such an act will receive a double reward," the Iranian army chief of staff also stated on Sunday.

He even claimed that the weapon used to kill an American would be kept in a museum currently being planned. Amir Hatami did not provide further details about this offensive targeting American soldiers, who are stationed far from the reach of the average Iranian citizen.

The 18 American soldiers killed since the start of the war against Iran on February 28 all died outside the country in airstrikes and munitions-related incidents. Only one American soldier was trapped on Iranian soil last April after his F-15E fighter jet crashed, requiring a rapid rescue mission.
