In Israel, a politician is at the center of a controversy. This is Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. A member of the far-right Otzma Yehudit party, the fifty-something, recognizable by his white kippah, told the "Jerusalem Post" that the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip should be deported to Europe.
“Why not send them to France, for example?” he suggested. He also mentioned Great Britain as a possible host country.
"We must conquer the entire territory. Absolutely all of it."
The Israeli minister therefore wants to deport the Gazans and take control of the entire strip. "If you ask me what needs to be done in Gaza, we must conquer the entire territory. Absolutely all of it… It is our land, the land of the Jewish people. And we must encourage emigration," he told the "Jerusalem Post."
The Israeli politician aspires to become Minister of Defense in the next government.
