Les États-Unis expulsent 3 millions de ressortissants étrangers en 15 mois
The United States government announced that it had not released any undocumented immigrants for 15 consecutive months, citing more than 3 million deportations and stricter visa and citizenship regulations.
According to an official fact sheet published by the State Department, these measures are part of a broader framework aimed at prioritizing American citizens and fundamentally reforming the enforcement of federal immigration laws following a record number of border crossings under the previous administration.
Official figures indicate that over 3 million foreigners have been deported, including thousands convicted of violent offenses. Alongside tightened border controls, federal authorities have launched an unprecedented denaturalization campaign targeting those accused of obtaining citizenship fraudulently; legal proceedings have already been initiated against 88 individuals.
This policy shift also extends to social welfare, election integrity, and international travel. Federal agencies have suspended welfare benefits for more than 1.4 million ineligible individuals, barred non-citizens from accessing more than a dozen taxpayer-funded health programs, and halted visa processing for 75 high-risk countries.
In addition, the administration has taken steps to remove tens of thousands of non-citizens from the state's voter rolls, while introducing a revised naturalization exam designed to assess applicants' understanding of American history and government institutions.
Emphasizing the continuation of strict enforcement measures initiated by executive decree at the beginning of the presidential term, officials stressed the operational change:
This broader immigration policy has significant international repercussions, particularly in countries with high visa issuance rates. The U.S. mission has repeatedly issued warnings urging visa applicants and holders to strictly adhere to immigration regulations, informing them that any violation, including overstaying, making fraudulent statements, or committing criminal acts, will result in immediate visa revocation and deportation.
With immigration remaining a central point of contention in the run-up to the 2026 midterm elections, the administration continues to present its hardline repression strategy as a necessary restoration of national security, the rule of law, and fiscal discipline.
